I have an old ceramic tub in my house. When I purchased the home, the tub was painted white. It seemed to start chipping as soon as we began using it. So, after about two years, we started noticing a lot of red stains underneath the paint.

I bought paint thinner and removed most of the remaining paint. That is not a fun or easy process and we still have patches yet to remove.

I was in Bed Bath andย  Beyond the other day and saw this:

It was only $3.99 and I figured I would use it to clean out my sinks. It is all natural and something new to try! It cleaned my sinks easily and then remembered my tub issue. I have tried numerous products to get rid of those hard water stains and nothing has worked. The previous owners were hooked up to the well on the property. We are thankfully connected to city water and have no issues.

So I began tackling the tub. This product is AMAZING. It takes some elbow grease but not much. Since it is a hard material, I was worried it would leave scratches. There are no scratches left and the residue from the rock easily wipes away.

I used one rock for half of the tub so I did go and buy another one to finish the job. First, we are going to make sure that all of the paint is removed. You can see my before and after pics below. But if you have any issues with hard water stains or some odd stain on your sinks/tubs, I would give this a try! We were contemplating re-painting the bath tub or just purchasing a new one all together. Not now! This was a big money saver!
