Best Hiking Boots for the Whole Family

One of our favorite activities to do as a family is actually free. We live near the mountain region of North Carolina and try to go hiking as often as possible. Most of the hikes are free. There are some mountains that you have to pay to get into if you want to see special attractions. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors, spend time with your family, and get in shape!

One thing that we had to invest in were some good hiking boots. Tennis shoes will not cut it if you want to go hike up or through a mountain. During out last hike, it down poured on us. If we didn’t have our boots, it would have been a disaster.

When I first moved to North Carolina, I didn’t have my boots yet. I wore tennis shoes to a mountain and had to climb down a huge rock with trickling water. I fell HARD- right on my butt! Live and learn, right?!
