2017 Goals

I haven’t set goals for myself in years…and years, and years. That’s actually a big problem because I realized that it is quite depressing when you don’t set any personal goals for yourself to achieve. I have been stuck, just living day to day.

I have found that I have fallen into what many moms refer to as having “no identity”. I feel almost numb on most days and am rarely excited about anything. My life has been about taking care of other people for the last 5 years and I have completely forgotten about myself, which is how I really don’t know who I am anymore.

Since I don’t know who I am, I started thinking about who I used to be, and I wasn’t impressed with that either. Before marriage and kids, my life was all about me. I had goals and achieved them all because honestly, I had nothing else to do. I was focused on me, my life, and what I thought was going to make me happy.

One goal was to get married and have children, which is where I am goallessly hovering at currently. So, since its five years past due, here are my goals for the year 2017 (in no particular order):

  1. Play More

Play a lot more with the kids. They’re little and these years go by far too quickly. I have a 5-year old and a 10-month old and am amazed at how fast our 5-year old grew.

Since I work from home, it never seems a good time for me to play. My mind is always on my work, so even though I’m home with the kids, I’m not really much fun.ย I need to make time to have fun with them,ย before its too late.

2. Achieve 700 Positive Feedback on Ebay

Right now, I am at 300. By the end of 2017, I would love to be up to 700 in positive feedback. I know I can do it, it’s just a matter of consistency, honesty, and optimal customer service.

3. Stop Biting Nails

It’s been a long time coming. It’s an embarrassing and gross habit that I have held onto for probably 25+ years. I’ve stopped before but obviously picked up my old habit.

I bite and pick my nails when I’m stressed or anxious. It’s definitely a “mind over matter” habit that I can stop on the drop of a dime.

4. Blog Once a Week

I have never scheduled, planned, or organized this blog the way that all successful bloggers do. However, I have purchased an adorable planner/organizer and plan to use it to its’ full potential.

5. Date Night Once a Month

There is no excuse for my husband and I not to go out at least once a month without the kids. My mom has offered to watch them any time that we need her. So here it is, set in stone: GO OUT ONCE IN A WHILE.
