Ever since our second child entered our lives 5 short months ago, life as a parent of a little baby has seemed so much easier than it was the first time around. It’s a combination of knowing what the baby wants or needs, knowing what I want or don’t want for the baby, and knowing what to expect when certain things arise. One thing that I know that I want for my new baby is less. I want less chemicals in cleaning products, foods, and most importantly for her: baby products. That’s why I was excited to be chosen to for a WaterWipes Review!

When I visited my local Babies R Us store earlier this week, I was welcomed as soon as I walked in the front door and was asked if I needed any assistance. I declined assistance, since I already know that store like the back of my hand. After browsing some of their awesome summer sales, I walked to the back of the store, where I already knew the baby wipes were located. You can find out where all WaterWipes are available for purchase here.

I found WaterWipes located on the shelves where all of the other baby wipes were located. They caught my eye immediately because of the large blue letters and clean white background. One thing that I noticed about the packaging is that they list their wipes as “Chemical Free”, right on top. They also list the only two ingredients that are found in WaterWipes, which are:

  • 99.9% water
  • 0.1% fruit extract

I loved seeing so little ingredients listed on the packaging. One thing that I have learned from going more natural is that less [ingredients] is usually best.

The Trial

Next, it was time to test out these wipes. I tried them out on our 5 month-old and let my 5-year old try them out as well. He’s a boy so getting messy is just part of his lifestyle these days :-).

As soon as I pulled a wipe from the package, I noticed how soft it was. There was not an immediate distinctive scent so I put one up to my nose. There was a very faint and clean smell of grapeseed oil extract.

I used these wipes during her diaper changes. They cleaned her very well, even for the messy diapers. There wasn’t an excess of water left on her skin after using the wipes but there was a little. I dried her bottom off with a cotton towel, as I usually do with every wipe. She had absolutely no irritation to her skin from using WaterWipes.

He was pretty excited to be one of test subjects for a change so he went all out. He tried these wipes on his hands, face, arms, legs, etc. While he was playing outside, he was able to remove dirt from his skin easily with these wipes. He was also able to wipe dried spaghetti sauce from around his lips with WaterWipes.

Neither child needed vigorous scrubbing with the wipes. The wipes are very durable and stretchy. The left them both looking and feeling fresh and clean. I would definitely recommend using WaterWipes for any mom that is wanting the best for her baby or children. The lack of chemicals and durable product that WaterWipes has created pretty much speaks for itself. I have definitely made the switch and am now only using WaterWipes on my kids.
